Our Friend, Cindy

Dear Democrats for Equality,

With a heavy heart I regret having to let you know that our friend, and former executive board member Cindy Green has passed away.

Cindy loved this club. She donated what she could. She gave so much time, effort, and energy ensuring the success of many of our friends and family over the better course of three decades, including being first elected onto our executive board back in the mid-1990s.

Over the years, Cindy made a conscious effort to reach out to so many of us, leaders of this club, our candidates, and elected officials.

“BTW Congrats” … that was the first message I personally ever received from Cindy. She offered support and cheered us on in good times, and offered a sympathetic ear and cried with us during the not-so-good times. If we were feeling down or sick, she always reached out to help.

That’s the kind of person Cindy is. Her years spent as a pediatric nurse at Kaiser no doubt shaped her love for children, animals, and humanity itself.

Our club’s mantra of “Our Members Make History” certainly rings true for Cindy Green. Her tireless efforts helped make that history for Christine Kehoe and Toni Atkins, and so many more.

Plans are pending at this time regarding services. Her brother Gary started a GoFundMe page to assist with expenses, and more information will likely be updated there.

This week, I hope you will join us in keeping Cindy Green and her immediate family in your thoughts as we remember our friend, and our sister.

May she rest in power.

Sincerely,

Ryan Trabuco
