Club Meeting This Thursday, July 16!

Democrats for Equality,

First off, thank you to all of our club members who have renewed their memberships!

So many of you even renewed and upped to a higher level, and I can’t begin to thank you for that vote of confidence in our club.

If you have not renewed your membership as of yet (it expired on June 30th), you can still do so today and have it count as a renewal towards being able to vote in our club meetings moving forward.

Please join us, and renew your Dems 4 Equality membership here.

Friendly reminder about our upcoming club meeting this Thursday, July 16th at 6:30pm. The meeting will again take place over Zoom, and you can register for that meeting here.

For Thursday’s meeting, we will be considering an Unacceptable rating for Hector Gastelum who apparently is running for re-election to the Otay Water District Board.

Last week, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that the Otay Water District Board voted to censure this dude for the second time in as many years for racist social media postings — this time for criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement.

Otherwise, there’s not too much on the agenda for Thursday’s meeting. We will consider a friendly incumbent endorsement for club member Nina Deerfield who is running for re-election to the Palomar Community College Board.

Also, Vista Councilmember Corinna Contreras needs some good Democratic colleagues, so we will consider endorsing for Vista City Council Districts 3 and 4.

I love you all,

Ryan Trabuco
