South Area Representative

Native San Diegan, raised in the South Bay, and raised her family in Chula Vista. Retired from 32 years at SDG&E and Sempra Energy, where I was a member of IBEW 465. Registered Democrat for 47 years and voted in every single election. Now I run with the wild lesbians on Harleys, play golf, swim, and work local campaigns for progressive candidates. That is all.

East Area Representative

Evlyn graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Chicano Studies and is currently the Development Director for Climate Action Campaign. Prior to that, she was Manager of the Center for Public Health Practice and the Office of Diversity at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. Evlyn has volunteered with many organizations supporting low-income families on topics ranging from college admissions to substance abuse and addiction. She has volunteered with the Teach in Prison Program helping inmates attain their GED and now volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for youth in the foster care and juvenile justice system.

Most recently Evlyn was awarded the New American Leaders Fellowship. In 2018 she was a candidate for Santee City Council and has been a passionate proponent of social, economic, and environmental justice. She is an elected Delegate for the California Democratic Party representing the 71st Assembly District and is on the Executive Committee of Sierra Club San Diego. She also sits on the executive boards of the San Diego Democrats for Environmental Action and the La Mesa-Foothills Democratic Club and is the East Area Representative on the Administration Committee of the San Diego County Democratic Party’s Central Committee in addition to being on the board for the San Diego Democrats for Equality.

Metro West Area Representative

Ben Aguilar is the owner and founder of the Law Offices of Ben Aguilar in downtown San Diego. His law practice focuses on Family Law cases.

Ben is currently the president of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Scholarship Foundation. Ben previously served as co-president of the Tom Homann LGBT Law Association (2015-2017). He also served on the board of directors of the National LGBT Bar Association (2016-2018).

Ben is an adjunct faculty professor at California Western School of Law where he teaches family law. In early 2019, Ben was appointed as a County Hearing Officer by County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher.

Ben was named by San Diego Metro Magazine as one of the 40 Under 40 in 2015. He was also recognized by the National LGBT Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association as one of the best 40 attorneys under 40 in 2016. In 2015 he received the Outstanding Community Service Award from the San Diego County Bar Association for his contributions to the San Diego legal community.
